Brenno Marquez and Fatima Caracoch

Argentine/Brazilian tango champions of 2024 World Tango Championship and acclaimed teachers worldwide.

Brenno Márquez (born in Porto Alegre, Brazil) and Fátima Caracoch (from Lobos, near Buenos Aires, Argentina) are the current 2024 World Champions of Tango de Pista, crowned at the prestigious Buenos Aires Tango Festival and World Championship held at Movistar Arena before a crowd of over 10,000 spectators.

Fátima Caracoch began dancing tango at the tender age of 4, following in her mother’s footsteps. She spent her youth performing in dance groups and teaching public classes alongside her mother in Lobos.

Brenno Márquez, influenced early on by his Uruguayan grandmother’s love of tango, took his first formal dance lessons in Brazil at age 13. He subsequently earned scholarships to study tango intensively and relocated to Buenos Aires at 18 to further his training .

The pair met approximately 18 months before the 2024 championship at a seminar led by Mariano “Chicho” Frumboli. They clicked immediately and began training together under the guidance of teacher Aoniken Quiroga.

In August 2024, Brenno and Fátima dominated the Tango de Pista competition—an homage to the classic floor-style tango danced in Buenos Aires milongas. Their outstanding performances to pieces by D’Arienzo, Tanturi, and Pugliese earned them the world champion title.

At the championship in Buenos Aires, they were celebrated as Porteños and hailed as favorites by both judges and commentators . Their win granted them international invitations, including a performance opportunity at Brazil’s Tango Bienal in Florianópolis.

Before joining forces, both had already established themselves as instructors—Fátima in Lobos and Brenno in numerous festivals. As champion duo, they now tour globally, offering workshops and demonstrations renowned for their focus on technique, musicality, floor-dance practicality, and electric partner connection.

In 2025, Fátima and Brenno have headlined workshops and performances across Europe, gracing events in Vienna, Ghent, Montpellier, and more—bringing Argentine-style milonga prowess to venues across the continent.

Their ascent—from regional talents to internationally recognized world champions—illustrates their passion, dedication, and commitment to both preserving tango heritage and evolving its modern expression. They continue to inspire dancers worldwide through competition, community, and creativity.

Brenno Márquez and Fátima Caracoch are a powerhouse Tango de Pista couple, whose shared journey—anchored in cultural roots, mutual chemistry, and championship success—has elevated them to become iconic ambassadors of contemporary Argentine tango.
